Biking the Golden Gate

The hills in San Francisco may intimidate cyclists, but honestly cycling from Pier 40, across the Golden Gate Bridge, and to Sausalito isn't that bad at all! There were only two hills to cycle throughout the scenic route along the coast.

We started at 11a.m. in the morning and finished at 5p.m., mostly because we stopped and sight-saw a lot of different places. Here is a quick run-down of how we did it:

  1. Rented bikes at The Bike Hut ($22 plus tax) and parked car next to it ($6)
  2. Biked to the famous Ferry Building Farmer's Market and grabbed brunch
  3. Biked along the coast to the Golden Gate and down the hill to Sausalito
  4. Explored Sausalito's many art galleries and ice cream shops
  5. Take the ferry back to The Ferry Building ($5 with Clipper card)

Bike Rental
The Ferry Building Farmers Market had everything: pretty flowers, fresh produce, gourmet cheese and salmons...
The most beautiful fungi I've ever seen- The Ferry Building Farmers Market

On the scenic route, near the warming hut and a protected bird-nesting site.

Cruising along the Golden Gate Bridge!

My rented bike in Sausalito, one of the most beautiful places in San Francisco Bay.

Gorgeous ferry ride back to The Ferry Building, just after the sunset.
